The municipality has received the same number of nominations as there are positions, therefore all council members are elected by acclamation. They are: Mayor – Craig Jackson, Councillors – Tanya Downe, Ruth Laverty, Darryl Campbell, Barry MacMaster, Shayla Downe and Sophie MacDonald. A huge thank you to them for offering their time and commitment to Council for the next term.



Rural Municipality of Central Kings Notice of Nomination Proceedings Pursuant to the Municipal Government Act.

Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Rural Municipality of Central Kings that a Municipal Election will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 to elect the mayor and councilors for the Rural Municipality of Central Kings for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2026.

The nomination period for the council positions noted above commences on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 and closes at 2:00 p.m. on nomination day on Friday, October 21, 2022.

Nominations shall only be received during office hours at the election office, located at 520 Strathcona Rd., Rte 312, Strathcona PE C0A 2A0.

The election office hours shall be 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Thursday October 13th and Tuesday October 18th, and 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Friday October 21st.

The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.

February 2022 meeting

The February meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Feb 16 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the firehall.

Our next council meeting will be on Wednesday, February 2 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Central Kings Fire Hall.  The proposed financial plan for 1 April 2022 – 31 March 2023 will be presented at that time.

In keeping with the Municipal Government Act, there is no longer an annual general meeting.  The financial plan (financial statement and budget) is voted on in March by council only, however resident feedback is always appreciated. Any concerns can be emailed to
